Re: Tomos timing?
It's ponts not cdi correct? If so, take the plug out and stick a screw driver in there and turn the motor to top dead center, the points should be starting to open just beforethe pisto reaches TDC. Also check to see that the points are closing completly and you might as well clean them while you in there, steal a nail file/emory board.

Re: Tomos timing?
Yeah I did all that and then some. How do you change when the points open though? Is it just by moving the stator plate? I'm still just getting a tiny little spark. How do I know if the points are bad? Could it be the condenser? I been fucking with this thing for 3 days now! I finally got the flywheel off at least. I want to have it ready for Inverness. I think I should have a fix it and fire night soon.
Re: Tomos timing?
Well adjusting the stator plat le adjusts the timing. Think the little bump on the flywheel comes around and hits the points, the position of the points determines how advanced or retarted it is. Condenser and bad points would all contribute to weak spark. If the points don't open enough or too much, the spark is effected. I might have mentioned it before but a smaller gap on the plug will allow a weak spark to sometimes work.
